How much is instinct and how much is taught?

Ever since I was a child with a conciousness I was aware of being gentle to mother natures creatures.
I was connected to nature without much thought too.

I remember many fond interactions with wildlife.

• Raising Monarchs. And tending to one that never got his wings to fluff out properly.
• Being at my great-grandparents and just vibing with some wild baby bunnies.
• That time in mexico when a troop of Coati's came up and said hello.
• That time a young opossum who had froze up on everyone else just cuddled up with me all happy.
  A random man was there to release him that day, as he was old enough to be on his own. Me and my siblings were annoying & curious.

And of course my recent endevor with a baby bird. A small sparrow I noticed on the ground at the park. My friend says he was about a week old.
